01How to use this

Try it on one computer

No account or pairing code needed for this mode.

  1. Open Demo display first and leave it open.
  2. Open Demo remote in a second tab or window in the same browser profile.
  3. Change the headline or a color. Put the windows side by side to see both.
  4. Try Blackout, then Restore.

These demo links include ?local=1. This mode does not connect a phone to another computer. Keep the display visible: a background tab is reported as hidden.

Pair a phone and a computer

An invited test. The live connection must be configured first.

  1. Ask Jay for the test links and separate display and remote pairing codes.
  2. Open the display link on your computer and enter its display code.
  3. Open the remote link on your phone and enter its remote code.
  4. Check Link, Server, and Screen before changing anything.

A TV is optional. Later, connect the computer by HDMI. A custom web address alone does not enable the live connection. Do not share pairing codes.

On the display computer: F toggles fullscreen. B or the period key toggles local stop. Escape always stops the display. Resume locally to clear a local stop; the phone’s Restore does not clear it.
Decorative motion only. Your device’s reduced-motion setting takes priority.
02What works in this test

In this version: editable text, background and text colors, gray-tone sliders, Blackout/Restore, and the harness’s connection and recovery controls.

Not included yet: worms, starfields, moving text, images/video, sound, playlists, MIDI, or the Notion connection. No pretend controls for those features.

The preview shows accepted settings—not a camera view of the display. “Server accepted” and “On screen” mean different things. Always check the Screen status.

Blackout and Restore may be refused if the screen changed while your command was waiting. Read the notice and press again. The display computer’s local stop remains the offline stop.

03Testing with usOpen / close

Start with the color preview above, then the two-window demo. No Notion account is needed for the same-computer test.

Invited testers receive their own setup through the Notion page they already share with Jay. Those private links and pairing details are not listed here.

Notion is not controlling this copy yet. The shared pages are for preview, instructions, and feedback until the publishing bridge is connected.
